Brahma has given the title of Teerthguru to Pushkar. It is believed that the pilgrimage to all the four dhams is complete and gives salvation only if Pushkar is also visited.

This place is known for the Pushkar Lake and the famous Brahma Temple.

The world renowned cattle fair held in the Kartik month (October-November) presents a beautiful image of Rajasthani culture.

Today, it is becoming the most important of tourist destinations in India, attracting foreign tourists in large numbers.
